Supporting ESL Students
Like many parts of Canada, B.C. has a diverse population. Nearly 40,000 immigrants arrive in the province every year and, in many households, English isn’t spoken.
Recognizing that proficiency in English is a vital skill, the Province supports a wide range of English as a Second Language (ESL) programs and services for people of all ages.
Within the public education system, ESL services are delivered by schools and school districts. To find out what’s available in your community, contact your local school or district directly.
